10 days of amazing safari & cultural experiences
This unique itinerary combines the most outstanding Kenyan safari experiences with a community focus that enables you to give back to the people of this amazing country. You will never be the same again after experiencing One Horizon’s incredible Kenyan tour package.
9.00 am meet your One Horizon guides and receive a briefing at your hotel. Today’s outing will be at a Community Refuge Centre for 75 children in the heart of Kawangware, which is one of the most economically, deprived communities in Nairobi.
You can take part in the activities that are turning children’s lives around, helping to feed the children and guided every step of the way by One Horizon staff.
4.00 pm: Day 1 concludes with One Horizon returning you to your hotel before a 7pm pick up to a Nairobi restaurant for a welcoming team dinner hosted by One Horizon.
You will be returned to your hotel by 9pm for a good night’s sleep in preparation for tomorrow’s adventure.
9.00 am meet your One Horizon guides and receive a briefing at your hotel before travelling to Ngong Hills on the outskirts of Nairobi. You will see the small business initiatives turning the lives of women around as well as hearing about their amazing survival stories
4.00 pm will have you returning to your hotel and an evening of leisure 5.00 pm (Optional) A trip to the David Sheldrick Rescue Centre for orphaned elephants. You can meet the baby elephants up close and spend time with them. The fee of $20USD is given to the rescue centre to help cover the cost of their intensive care and rehabilitation back to the wild
9.00 am meet your One Horizon guides and receive a briefing at your hotel before travelling to Kibera, which is the largest disadvantaged community in East Africa of over 1 million people
You will visit an educational life centre for children and receive a traditional African greeting from the children. The centre gives hope to a community that survives on less than $2.00 per day. You can help the children paint, learn English, conduct our health checks with the day concluding with an amazing games afternoon.
4.00 pm: Day 3 concludes with One Horizon returning you to your hotel before a 7pm pick up to a Nairobi restaurant for the final team dinner hosted by One Horizon. You will return to your hotel around 9pm.
9.00 am meet your One Horizon guides and receive a briefing. You will then travel to Kiambu on the outskirts of Nairobi. The Nutrition Centre caters for children who are severely malnourished and who rely on the work of One Horizon to ensure their future.
You will be able to help prepare the children’s lunch and feed the toddlers before an afternoon of fun
4.00 pm will see you returning to your hotel and an evening of leisure before your safari adventure begins on Day 5. At 6pm you will receive a briefing about your safari adventure, the wildlife you will see and your accommodation venues
Kenya is considered the ‘grand dame’ of safaris based on her abundant wildlife and that you are almost guaranteed to see the big five (lion, elephants, rhino, leopards and buffalo). This tour covers the great wildlife sanctuaries of Amboseli, Lake Navaisha and the Masai Mara.
Today you will start your safari by travelling to AMBOSELI National Park situated at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. Amboseli is home to some of the largest herds of elephants in all of Africa. With a stunning backdrop, you will see these gentle giants in family herds as they roam the park.
An 8.00 am pick up from your hotel driving to Amboseli (4 hours 30 minutes). During the drive you will pass through a kaleidoscope of dramatic scenery from open plains to rugged hills and through villages where life is largely untouched by the modern world.
Arrive and check in at the OL TUKAI LODGE and lunch
In the afternoon, you will be taken on a game drive in the park until sunset
You will return late afternoon for dinner and an overnight stay at the Ol Tukai Lodge
This itinerary enables you to spend time exploring the majesty that Amboseli offers and maximising your safari experiences. Amboseli National Park is renowned for impressively tusked bulls, which are drawn to the large, lush swamplands. This area is also home to many Maasai communities. You will also have the opportunity to observe herds of wildebeest, zebra and impala grazing on the open plains. Cheetahs are also often sighted in the park.
A full day is spent exploring the park with early morning and afternoon game drives concluding with dinner and overnight accommodation.
You can go on early morning or late afternoon game drives or both as it is entirely up to you. Alternatively, if you would like to relax around the lodge, that is the benefit of this tour – no frantic rush from park to park
Lake Naivasha is a beautiful freshwater lake, fringed by thick papyrus and surrounded by forests. The waters of the lake draw a great range of game to its shores. Giraffes wander among the acacia, buffalo wallow in the swamps and Colobus monkeys call from the treetops whilst the lakes large hippo population sleeps the day in the shallows.
Breakfast at the lodge and transfer to the airstrip for your flight to NAIROBI, departing at 08.10 and arriving at 08.40. Met by our guide, you will proceed to LAKE NAIVASHA and the Rift Valley region.
Arrival and check in at LAKE NAIVASHA SOPA LODGE where you will enjoy lunch. In the afternoon you will enjoy a 1 hour boat ride to observe the hippo herds. In late afternoon there is a guided walking safari on the Crescent Island Sanctuary. In early evening, you will return for dinner and an overnight stay.
The Masai Mara has earned Kenya the title of the grand dame of safari destinations. The stunning landscape of grassland plains provides an abundance of food that attracts the great herds and predators alike. It is here that you will be overwhelmed by the variety and density of wildlife and it seems around every turn there is something new and exciting to see including giraffe, wildebeest, zebras, lions, leopards, jackals and buffalo.
After breakfast proceed to the Masai Mara National Reserve in your air conditioned 7 seater vehicle with many outstanding photo opportunities (5 hours) along the way. Arrive and check in at SAROVA MARA GAME CAMP and lunch. Afternoon game drive in the reserve until sunset. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight stay
This is your second day in the Masai Mara and continues the theme of enjoying every moment of this incredible landscape. It is your time to witness and take in the wildlife in all its glory and there are great photo opportunities. Your day includes game drives in the morning and afternoon or you may opt to relax at the Game Camp soaking in the atmosphere that Kenya is internationally renowned for.

After the exhilaration of the days in the Masai Mara you will prepare for your short flight to Nairobi and the end of this amazing journey. A leisurely breakfast gives you the opportunity to swap photos and memories about your time in Kenya and the friends you have made.

Reservations are established only when you receive written confirmation and acceptance of the deposit and booking form.

Written instructions only will be accepted by Adventure Associates to cancel a reservation. Cancellation charges are subject to regulations of airlines, coach and tour operators, hotels and other principals involved. If it is necessary to cancel your arrangements, the following non-refundable charges will apply.
