Tourism and Events Queensland have inked a deal with GraingerTV to produce a series of episodes for the all-Aussie TV travel show TRAVEL OZ, featuring Queensland.
Three destinations are to be featured:
Outback Queensland, the Whitsunday Islands and the Sunshine Coast.
Travel Oz producer/presenter Greg Grainger will take 2 cameramen to cover these destinations over the month of June.
The Outback episode will feature the friendly characters of Outback Queensland, in a trip that will take in Surat, Roma, Tambo, Blackall, Barcaldine, Longreach, Winton and Hughenden. The program will feature everything from the Roma Cattle Sales (Australia’s biggest), life on an outback property, the hairdresser who runs a cattle station, the Porcupine Gorge Challenge, the goat trainer, the Banjo Patterson legend, and the Dinosaur trail.
In the Whitsundays, the Travel Oz team will film a day-long flight around the island group, a sleep-over on the Great Barrier Reef, a segway tour around Airlie Beach, Queensland’s salad bowl, the historic movie-star town of Bowen, and a jet ski trip to South Molle island.
On the Sunshine Coast, Travel Oz will feature Rainbow Beach, with its beach drive and horse rides on the sand, the Larc excursion to the Pumicestone Passage, the Caloundra Markets, the Mary Valley with its platypus, kayaking and biking, the Mooloolaba jet boat, the Paradise seaplane ride, swimming with the whales, and the Sunshine Coast hinterland, with the privately-owned Melaney Botanic Gardens and Food Tale tours.
Travel Oz is seen by more than 21-million people around the world, with broadcasters from the USA to Russia. In Australia, Travel Oz is screened for 90-minutes every Sunday afternoon on 7TWO.
